3.6. Inorganic chemical industries
Overview
The SO2 and NOx emissions of Inorganic Chemical Industry Plants are especially interesting for Sulfuric acid and Nitric acid production. Only a relatively small amount of CO2 is emitted by these industries and therefore not presented here.

SO2
By far the biggest SO2-emitting Inorganic Chemical Industry Plants are production sites of Sulfuric Acid. They are followed by production plants of NPK fertilizers (top 21), Titanium Dioxide, Black Carbon, Ammonia, Ammonium Sulfate, Calcium Carbide and Nitric Acid.

NOx
Nitric Acid production seems to be the dominating production for the biggest NOx-emitting Inorganic Chemical Industry Plants. The plant with by far the largest emission is located in Bulgaria. This plant is followed by an Ammonia producing factory in Romania and again a Nitric Acid plant in Poland.
