sectoral indicator

Sectoral indicators show links between the activities of societal sectors (transport, energy, forestry, etc.) and the environment. As well a sector's absolute burden on the environment and the development in its eco-efficiency, sectoral indicators deal with a sector's development in size and character and its specific responses to environmental problems. Sectoral indicators can be used to describe progress made in individual sectors, but they also serve to compare sectors.
