When integrating vector layers or mosaicking images together, it is possible that each vector or image may not precisely join or geometrically edgematch to an adjacent vector or image. Visual inspection of the integrated vector layer or image mosaic should be performed to ensure that features on the ground along the edge of each vector or image line up exactly with the same features on the edge of the adjacent vector or image.Many GIS or IP (Image Processing) SW have semiautomated tools to help in edgematching process. Futher control of attributes is necessary in case of edgematching of vector layers with line or polygonial topology.
