We need to encourage the entrepreneur in people

Prof. Jacqueline McGlade, Executive Director of the EEA

The prize rewards innovative, practical solutions to environmental problems, which can be replicated in different regions of the world.

'We must be creative about the environmental dilemma we find ourselves in. We need to encourage the entrepreneur in people. The St Andrews Prize has been presenting the environment as a challenge and an opportunity to innovative people for 10 years — long may it continue,' says Prof. Jacqueline McGlade, Executive Director of the EEA.

The prize is an environmental initiative by the University of St Andrews, Scotland's first university, and the integrated energy company ConocoPhillips.

To enter the 2008 competition, please submit a 500-word single page project summary by 31 October 2007 to: email prize@st-andrews.ac.uk
