The number of premature deaths has been calculated according to methodology described in EEA´s briefing assessing the risks to health from air pollution (https://www.eea.europa.eu/publications/assessing-the-risks-to-health/assessing-the-risks-to-health) and the ETC-EH Eionet report 2022/10 (https://www.eionet.europa.eu/etcs/etc-he/products/etc-he-products/etc-he-reports/etc-he-report-2022-10-health-risk-assessment-of-air-pollution-and-the-impact-of-the-new-who-guidelines). The current calculations will be presented in the forthcoming Eionet report "Health risk assessment of air pollution: assessing the environmental burden of disease of air pollution in Europe in 2021".
