Notes:
- The figure shows the trend in the GHG emissions from the transport sector since 1990 and projections to 2040, at the EU level (EU-27). The 2022 values are preliminary estimates reported by Member States.
- The values shown include all domestic transport emissions. They do not include international aviation and international maritime transport, nor do they include emissions associated with the production of electricity used for transportation (e.g. trains, tramways, electric vehicles).
- The 'with existing measures' projections scenario reflects the impacts of existing policies and measures on future emissions and the 'with additional measures' scenario also includes further planned policies and measures reported by Member States.
