Exposure of agricultural area to ozone in EEA member countries
Chart (static)
Note:
Exposure of agricultural area to ozone (expressed as accumulated ozone exposure over a threshold of 40 parts per billion (AOT40) in (μg/m3).h) in the EEA-33 member countries. In the Ambient Air Quality Directive (2008/50/EC), the target value for protection of vegetation is set to 18 000 (μg/m3).h, averaged over five years, whereas the long term objective is set to 6 000 (μg/m3).h. In 2007, Iceland and Norway were included; and in 2008, Switzerland. Since 2008, only Turkey has not been included as a result of a lack of detailed land cover data and/or rural O3 data.
