Map (static)
Additional number of days per year with high-to-extreme fire danger by weather (daily Fire Weather Index≥30), compared with the situation in the reference time period 1981-2010, for different levels of global warming. Median ensemble of five model-statistics (see recommended References).

Additional information
Additional number of days per year with high-to-extreme fire danger by weather (daily Fire Weather Index≥30) for different levels of global warming compared to the reference time (1981-2010). Median ensemble of five model-statistics (see References, Tables 3-4 in [1], and Table 3 in [2], highlighted cells). The maps are reprojected in EPSG:3035 (ETRS89 LAEA) while the original data are under a rotated-pole projection, as specified in the standard EURO-CORDEX grid.
Reference time period: 1981-2010. Given the ensemble of models required for a robust analysis, no single time period can be associated to different levels of global warming. The maximum extent of time ranges in the underpinning asyncrhonous models, for each global-warming level (compared with the reference time period, see References):
+1.5°C: 2007-2044
+2.0°C: 2016-2059
+3.0°C: 2037-2082
