Recycling rates in Europe by waste stream

Recycling rates of municipal and packaging waste relate to waste generated. Recycling of municipal waste includes material recycling and composting/anaerobic digestion. Recycling rates of waste relate to waste excluding major mineral waste generated and backfilling is excluded. Recycling rate of electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) relate to the average quantity of electrical and electronic equipment put on the market (POM) in the previous three years. If the POM data for the previous 3 years includes gaps, then 1 or 2 of the previous years are taken into account.
