See all EU institutions and bodiesThe 4-partite agreement with other entrusted entities aims to ensure cooperation across the Copernicus services for the development of WEkEO, which is the EU Copernicus DIAS reference service for environmental data, virtual processing environments and skilled user support.
Aims and objectives
In the frame of the agreement, EEA shall be responsible for all design, implementation, testing and/or operational activities of the following aspects:
- Service information access: Provide access to land datasets from Copernicus services that are managed by EEA.
- Access to in situ and other ancillary data: Coordination of access to in situ and other ancillary data where appropriate and feasible, and as necessary for the generation, calibration and validation of Copernicus data and Copernicus information, including where appropriate and cost-effective the use of existing national capacities and avoiding duplications.
- Data exploitation services for Land applications: implement the concept of “bringing the users to the data” by providing access to computing resources, preinstalled tools (e.g.SNAP, Jupyter Notebook, qQIS, libraries, software development tools)and the capability to host and execute a user’s application(s) on WEkEO.
