Aims and objectives
The Copernicus Land Monitoring Service (CLMS) provides users in the field of environment and other terrestrial applications with high-quality information based on space data combined with other sources of in-situ and other ancillary data. The service is jointly managed by the European Commission - Joint Research Centre and the EEA. The EEA is entrusted by the Commission to implement the European and local components.
The cross-cutting coordination of Copernicus access to in-situ data to support DG DEFIS and the Copernicus Entrusted Entities in their efforts to secure and improve the availability and accessibility of essential in-situ data needed for the production and validation of Copernicus data and information products and for the calibration and validation of Copernicus Sentinel payloads and data.
