Environmental information systems
The EEA collects and regularly publishes data on new passenger cars and new vans registered in Europe, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2019/631.
The data are reported by all EU Member States, Iceland (since 2018), Norway (since 2019) and the United Kingdom in order to evaluate the efficiency of the new vehicle fleet, including information on CO2 emissions and vehicle mass.
The European Commission's CIRCABC platform provides guidelines and information on CO2 emissions from light duty vehicles (incl. on passenger cars).
