Is environmental legislation part of the EEA's working remit?

The EEA produces knowledge on the state of and trends in the environment in Europe. This contributes to improving the environment and moving towards sustainability in Europe. However, European environmental legislation and its implementation are beyond the EEA’s working remit. The EEA doesn’t set or enforce environmental policies and has no mandate for providing legal or technical assistance on complaints relating to environmental legislation. Finally, the EEA has no powers of investigation.
