Methodology
Applied procedures: A 1 km x 1 km grid has been used to display the land cover change data in the area around Venice. Such data are useful for making sustainability assessments. The mapping suggests that while some sprawl is taking place around the cities of Padova and Mestre, it is also extensive in the wider countryside, and particularly in the proximity of wetlands.
