This figure shows greenhouse gas emissions under the European Union Emissions Trading System (ETS) since the start of the system. It includes the cap on allowances, as well as the existing and proposed targets for 2030.

Methodology

Historical data is provided by the European Commission and compiled through the EU Transfer Log (EUTL). Projections are submitted to the EEA by Member States and compiled by the ETC and the EEA.

Additional information
