Projected change in the volume of mountain glaciers and ice caps in European glaciated regions

The projections are based on a mass-balance model driven with temperature and precipitation scenarios from 14 global climate models for a moderate greenhouse gas forcing scenario (RCP4.5) and a high forcing scenario (RCP8.5). The solid line shows the best estimate (median) of the 14 models; the dotted lines depict the first and third quartile, which encompass half of the model simulations; the shaded interval delineates the full model uncertainty.
