DATE_UPDATE The date when the information reported for the site was last changed. The data field takes the form of the year (four digits) followed by the month in numeric form (two digits).
DATE_PROP_ASCI The date a site is proposed as an Emerald Network site
DATE_CONF_CAND_ASCI The date the site is accepted as a Candidate Emerald Network site by the Standing Committee of the Bern Convention

EXPLANATIONS Additional explanations given by the country to support the dates designations.
AREAHA Surface area of a site in hectares. Although it is an obligatory field, the value -99 is given for sites for witch the areas is unknown. A value of 0 cab be correct if the site is a cave or cliff. In this case the field 2.3 is obligatory.
LENGTHKM Site length is entered in kilometers.
MARINE_AREA_PERCENTAGE Percentage of the site considered as marine.
DOCUMENTATION Additional documentation existing as a reference for the site.
QUALITY Description of the site in terms of ecological quality.
DESIGNATION The local name of the official designation of the site.
OTHERCHARACT Additional description in the local language about the site.
LATITUDE The geographic coordinate in decimals of the site centre. (ETRS89 projection).
LONGITUDE The geographic coordinate in decimals of the site centre. (ETRS89 projection).
DATE_SPA Date site classified as SPA. This is not an intrinsic Emerald data field. In case a country is leaving the EU and is transposing it's Natura2000 sites into the Emerald Network, this field will contain the information as recorded under the Natura2000 Network
SPA_LEGAL_REFERENCE The legal statement by the national authority in which the site was amended as SPA. This is not an intrinsic Emerald data field. CONSERVATION Degree of conservation of the structure and functions of the natural habitat type, concerned and restoration possibilities. A: excellent conservation, B: good conservation, C: average or reduced conservation
GLOBAL_ASSESSMENT Global assessment of the value of the site conservation of the natural habitat type concerned. A: excellent value, B: good value, C: significant value
DATAQUALITY Assessment of the quality of data provided for habitats. G: 'Good' (e.g. based on surveys); M: 'Moderate' (e.g. based on partial data with some extrapolation); P: 'Poor' (e.g. rough estimation)
